What Does it Take to Gain Traction?

If you’ve ever read the book, Traction by Gino Whickman (one I recommend often to clients and Inner Circle Members) then you know there are tangible steps to gain traction in a business. It’s a great book to help grow your business and keep your sanity.

The topic I want to dive into today is about where you are when you’ve been pushing and pulling and tugging and beginning, ending, building, burning day after day.

I mean, aren't you tired? We are told we have to hustle if we want to make it, but the truth is that it is short - lived to get a nice little business running. Chaos ensues when you haven’t got the right people on your team or your business model needs some tweaking, perhaps you need to grow as a leader, do you have a vision and a growth plan. Ultimately, this is one of those times in history that we’ve all been through something large,a global event and one that many are still going through. The recovery hasn’t been easy and the ups and downs have been drastic, exhausting and more.

It’s been hard. And now we need to dig deep and keep pushing to the end of the year? Sigh. It’s going to be tough. Here’s some tips:

  • First, step back and make sure you know what outcome you’d like to have. Dream big, and then create a realistic plan to get there ( a good business coach can help!).

  • Second, Take that plan and budget yourself and create a date that if this thing isn’t working that you’ll pivot to something else - perhaps a different offering, business, industry, target audience or even team.  Creating a Plan A, a Plan B, and a Plan C has never been more needed. Life is continuing to challenge us with new obstacles and opportunities regularly.

  • Third, Share the dream. As you build it, tell people about it, share your passion, get others excited about what you are doing. The energy you put out there, flows to other meetings, events and conversations where your name comes up and how you were perceived- busy, struggling, etc- and really brings business and opportunities to you months later.

  • Last, Follow Up and Show Up. Right now, everyone is overwhelmed. Figure out how to show up and be present for your clients. They too are burnt out, tired and trying to gain traction. The more we can move forward together the better.

In October, we will have our Summit #GritandGrace, a place to replenish your own cup so you can go out and help others even more. We will have speakers addressing these challenges and how to move forward in a way that provides you traction and transformational relationships as well.

Get your ticket here! Stay tuned for speaker announcements soon!
